 Today we started a work sheet that has the four poems we read from the past week. That includes the theme, which we had to provide two pieces of evidence for. An unanswered question and two claims. This wasn’t so hard because we analyzed the poems already. We did the first poem together and that's all we completed so we're going to finish Monday when we come back.

 Today we still read and analyzed a poem by Langston Hughes. This time we had more questions we had to answer but they were easy because of the analyzing we did. When we do these poems, it feels like learning life lessons and it's not bad because somedays they are helpful. I didn't fully grasp the questions in the back because they were all similar and had to write in the designated place. I feel ill and tired and it being a block day is not helping.

Today we read and analyzed “ I, Too” by Langston Hughes, which we have been reading for the last couple of days. His poems can be relatable, because so far in the poems we’ve read he refers to everyone and talks about things happening during his time and our present time. The most important thing we learned was to take advantage of the opportunities given to you because other people don’t get those opportunities. I like the bellringer in the beginning of the class because it gives us an idea of what the lesson is going to be about. I’m feeling sleepy and tired because our family was busy during our four-day weekend and hopefully the rest of the day is easy too.

 Today we read and a nalyzed "The Negro Speaks of Rivers", we also had a set of questions we had to answer.   I learned more about the importance of analyzing poems to understand what I read. I also learned that there is a deeper history to someone than meets the eye. It will be nice to investigate my background and see where  our family came from. I like that we have to analyze the poem no matter how small it is or how easy the words may be, they always have a deeper meaning. I’m not feeling good at all, my surgery wound has bothered me all morning and I don’t expect it to get better. I also have to study for my chemistry quiz tomorrow, which I’m kind of prepared for.
