Today we took notes on how to read a poem and we started by reading a poem by Emily Dickenson.   \

 Today we made a Jam board based on our myth stories and we also had to present it. There wasn't much we had to do on it, just a summary and pictures of our story. We're also starting a new lesson on poems and that's a bit more exciting and I did miss most of the notes when we first started learning about mythology.

 We had to turn in our origin myth stories. I might've missed something, but it's too late to change it now. Also, the explanation for our myth wasn't as bad as it sounds it was about a paragraph. That goes for the story too, as soon as I started with a few sentences the rest of the story came together. Tomorrow we're presenting a short summary on our stories and the good thing is that it's not a lot of writing.

Today's the official full week of school, it was exhausting even when I was expecting it. We did a four-question quiz in illuminate on myths. Afterwards we discussed it, the whole class didn't do so well, but we'll keep learning. We later continued working on our own myths.

We continued working on our origin myth today. The teacher gave us an example of how our origin myth is supposed to look and since our paper isn't due until Monday, I have more time to perfect it. The paper doesn't have to be so long so that's good, but we have to write an explanation of our Origin Myth. I have to finish by tomorrow and not look at it until I turn it in, or I'll want to change the entire thing. Today is also our first block day of the year, I'm not super excited about it, but I can't do anything about it.

 Today the teacher was absent, but he did leave a worksheet on Navajo Creation. We had to create our own origin myth, there is a rubric included so there shouldn't be much confusion on about our work. I did miss Monday, so I had to copy down notes that were taken. I'm still not 100% sure if I'm doing it right, but I'll wait until Thursday to ask. Also, block days are happening this week and I'm not excited about it..

 Absent

 Today we watched short films and wrote down a one sentence summary and had to find two themes. We needed to do it in illuminate, so I thought we were going to take a test. The test and quizzes on there get boring really fast, I was relieved we didn't have to take it.

 

 Today is the first day we start posting blogs, it will take a while to get used to, but I'll manage. We took a few notes on "Reading with a Purpose," which helped us understand the short passage we later read. The passage was about two kids who skip school and it felt kind of unrelated to what we previously learned because we were not given a "purpose" to look for in the passage. Having something to look for in the passage can help you remember what you read, plus it makes it more interesting.

 Today we read a passage about students violating the schools dress code and the punishments they receive whether that be in school suspension or wearing navy overalls. We also annotated the passage in order to understand what we read about, which helped when we answered a question at the end of the class.
